Previous Updates

2022.02.09 - Pics 43 & 44: Setting out and commencement of masonry construction of the first floor.
2022.02.04 - Pics 39, 40, 41 & 42: Placement of ready mixed concrete. Placement is done by means of a concrete pump to ensure speed and accuracy, as well as uniform curing.
2021.02.03 - Pics 36, 37 & 38: Completion of rib and block installation, reinforcing steel to beams and services prior to placement of concrete. Stair shuttering and steel also in place.
2021.12.14 - Pics 33, 34 & 35: Ribs and blocks being installed for the first floor, as well as the shuttering for a beam to support part of first floor structure.
2021.12.12 - Pic 32: The entrance door and window frame being installed. This frame will extend to two storeys.
2021.12.03 - Pic 28: The support column for the beams above in 30 Mpa reinforced concrete.
2021.12.02 - Pic 27: Pre-stressed ribs in the foreground are for the first-floor slab. Note the custom-made shutter work for the concrete support beams.
2021.11.30 - Pics 25 & 26: The swimming pool hole being excavated. This pool will be custom constructed by ourselves.
2021.11.25 - Pic 24: All water from terraces and balconies is drained via concealed downpipes, in this case Class 12 high pressure PVC. The brick columns are filled with concrete and have Y12 rebar.
2021.11.25 - Pics 23: Superstructure masonry work underway. Note the DPC moisture barriers installed between the cavity wall skins, as well as the pockets at floor level for washing out the cavity walls during construction.
2021.11.18 - Pics 22: A moisture barrier is sprayed onto the concrete to retard the evaporation process. This captures the moisture in the concrete, allowing it to cure to a high Mpa while also preventing shrinkage cracks in the concrete.
2021.11.18 - Pics 19, 20 & 21: 100mm Thick 25Mpa concrete for the surface beds being placed.
2021.11.17 - Pic 18: Conduits for the electrical installation are complete. Note the spacers below the mesh to allow the concrete to fully surround the mesh.
2021.11.16 - Pic 17: 6.3mm High tensile steel mesh is placed over high density polystyrene insulation, in turn placed on 250mic DPC underlay.
2021.11.15 - Pic 16: Central vacuuming pipes being installed. Shuttering for the column being constructed.
2021.11.12 - Pics 14 & 15: Note the Biddum, Findrain and drainage pipes installed to remove any possible groundwater occurring at the level changes from house to garage. Rebar installed for the base and column to support the first-floor level beams.
2021.11.11 - Pics 12 & 13: Fill compaction for underside of concrete surface beds, with a layer of clean fill to protect the DPC underlay. We use heavy-duty compactors assuring the correct compaction density.
2021.11.04 - Pics 10 & 11: Foundation wall cavities are filled with concrete for strength.
2021.11.01 - Pic 9: Foundation walls being built. Note waterproofing of walls where level changes occur from house to garage.
2021.10.27 - Pic 8: Setting out of house walls. We recheck our dimensions a number of times and set out the works ourselves ensuring there is no confusion of wall placement.
2021.10.26 - Pics 6 & 7: Concrete placed. Note the steps. 25Mpa concrete used ensuring a strong and stable footing
2021.10.21 - Pic 5: Foundation rebar placed. Y12 throughout. Foundations are stepped to accommodate site levels changes, ensuring the building's structural integrity. Sloped foundations, without steps, compromises the structure resulting in movement cracks.
2021.10.18 - Pic 4: Foundation excavation in progress
2021.10.14 - Pics 2 & 3: Site clearing and setting out
